May I cancel a summer camp that I have pre-registered for?
Summer camp deposits and installment payments are non-refundable and non-transferrable. After June 1st, camp reservations require 100% payment to reserve your spot in camp and are immediately non-refundable.
We want to reduce the stress of sign up for summer camp, when possible, so we charge the balance of camp in 4 installments (Feb, March 1, April 1, May 1). Once each partial installment has been charged, it becomes non-refundable. We are charging the balance in installments to allow all customers to preserve part of their summer camp payment. Any After April 1st, the full balance of summer camp is due upon registration.
If you would like to cancel prior to the next installment, please call us at 773 798-2012 or email us at support@kidssciencelabs.com, so we can stop future installment charges. Any previous camp installments that have already been charged are non-refundable.
If your summer plans have changed and you need to switch to another week of summer camp, that has a remaining spot available, please call us at 773 557 7764 and we will try to find another week that may work for your family.
Canceling a camp after a camp installment has been made can result in a forfeiture of your entire previous camp installments, but has the benefit that it will not require any future installment payments.
Day Camp Cancellation Policy?
How do I cancel a day camp or week long camp that I have registered for?
We require at least 30 days notice before canceling a day camp or a week long camp, such as winter break or spring break. Each camp requires a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. The remaining balance is typically charged to the credit card on file, up to 30 days prior to the beginning of camp. Canceling a camp can result in a forfeiture of any camp payments that have been previously made.
Why do we have this policy? When we reserve a spot for you, we are prohibiting others from signing up as we have limited space available. Camp balances are non-transferable. There are no day camp sick-day credits available at KSL.
Birthdday Party Cancellation Policy
We understand. Children sometimes get sick, plans change, and we all try our best to adapt. We offer flexible reschedule options to any available future party date & time at the center, if you are unable make your reserved date. You may upgrade your party up until 3 days prior to the event date. If you need to cancel, the deposit is non-refundable. If the cancellation is within 7 days of the event date, only an event credit is avialable that may be used for any other service at Kids Science Labs. If an acceptable date is not available, your family is welcome to use the balance charged for your party, for any other service at Kids Science labs within 12 months of the original scheduled date.
What are the grounds of dismissal? Is there a Code of Conduct?
Student Code of Conduct
Kids Science Labs wants to provide an opportunity for all kids to learn about the world of science around them in a fun and interactive way. All year long, we love to engage children to make them better problem solvers and critical thinkers.
We want KSL to be a place where kids can come to ask the questions they have everyday, wonder “why”, make mistakes and innovate, and be inspired. This takes lots of effort and care from our team and our students. To support these goals we have a Student Code of Conduct to communicate consistent expectations for all our students and ensure a fun, collaborative, and enjoyable learning environment.
Our Student Code of Conduct begins with two core rules to ensure the safety of our students and teachers - (1) Be Safe and (2) Have Fun. Our expectations for behavior and how we treat others flow from these two fundamental rules.
At all times, students need to show appropriate behavior, actions, and communications in order to support a positive learning environment. Students physically harming another individual will be immediately removed from KSL activities, this is to ensure the safety of everyone in the center.
By following the entirety of our Student Code of Conduct policy everyone can enjoy KSL and great hands-on science classes. We all make mistakes, that is part of life. We ask that we each take responsibility for our mistakes and work to be better
We will try to communicate clearly to students and parents about challenging situations. Being with our students brings us great joy, but we do have constraints at times. It is not possible of us to devote a single resource for an individual child for an extended period of time (20 minutes+) during the day, as it precludes us from being with the other students
There are actions which unfortunately result in us having to immediately remove someone from KSL activities (classes, camps, field trips). These include:
Intent to harm someone, which can be another student, teacher, or oneself
Behavior that impacts or significantly reduces the enjoyment of the class for other students.
Intimidating, bullying, or intentionally causing stress to another student
Repeatedly destroying projects belonging to other students or damaging KSL property.
Repeatedly using inappropriate language while involved with KSL activities, in or around the center.
Endangering oneself or other students (ex. using materials as a weapon, running into the street)
As an easy reminder, we expect “GREAT” student conduct.
G is for GOOD words and actions for ourselves, other students and staff.
We do not say un-kind or inappropriate words at anytime.
We are kind and caring toward others.
We never physically hurt another student or teacher.
We share KSL activity materials with each other when we are asked.
R is for RESPECTING ourselves, other students and staff.
We follow directions, which helps us remain safe.
We listen to staff and other students. We respect the thoughts and ideas of others.
We keep our hands and feet to ourselves.
We clean up the classroom and KSL space.
E is for EYES and EARS
We remain in the area where KSL staff or parents can see or hear us.
We are never alone with another student or teacher.
A is for paying ATTENTION
We pay attention to the activities in our class.
We pay attention to the rules and expectations in class.
We do our best even when we encounter challenges.
We encourage and help other students.
T is for TRUTH
We do not lie / make up stories that are not true and tell them to other students staff or parents/caregivers.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy the joy and innovation of Kids Science Labs. We ask that everyone follow common and reasonable expectations so that we all have a great experience. Students who violate our student code of conduct on more than one occasion will be asked to no longer participate in our programs.
We have read the student code of conduct and explained it to our child(ren):

Field Trip Cancellation Policy?
If your school and/or group needs to reschdule your field trip, you are welcome to choose any available alternative future date, as long as its withing 12 months of the original scheduled date. Field Trip deposits and paid balances are non-refundable, once charged. Additoinally, if you change the number of attendees, within 7 days of the scheduled date, the original field trip balance is still due, as we have already made preparations including ordering science materials and reserving our teachers schedule to accomodate your Field Trip. To reschedule a field trip, email support@kidssciencelabs.com at your earliest convenience.
Potty Training: Does KSL change diapers?
No. All children who participate in any drop-off program, must be able to safely and securely use the bathroom entirely on their own, without the assistance of any adults. Accidents may happen in camp, and if your child potentially may have a bathroom accident, during any of our programs, they should expect to have to change their clothes entirely on their own. For the safety of children, we ask that all students are not 100% able to go to the bathroom on their own, should not attend any of our programs that require drop-off, such as camps, parties, and field trips. KSL is not able to accomodate diaper changing, by its staff, at this time.
Drop-off: May I drop off my child without signing-in?
No. For the safety of all children and staf, all students, without exception must be dropped off and picked up inside Kids Science Labs by a registered parent or approved caregiver. All persons picking up should have the expectation that they may be asked to present a valid form of picture identification prior to picking up a child. Under no circumstances, for any of our programs, may a child be dropped off outside of our facility as we require the secure transfer by an adult for participation in any of our programs, including but not limited to birthday parties, camps, field trips, and classes.
What other programs does KSL offer?

We offer at-school STEM Labs that unlock the curiosity with classes at schools, the best Science Summer Camps, Convenient Day-off Camps whenever school is out, the best Science Birthday Parties, NGSS-aligned Field Trips at KSL for PreK-8th grade.
