Kids Science Labs STEAM programs yield the best Entrepreneurs!

We often thing of ‘science” in terms of chemistry or physics. That’s far too limiting. Science is simply the exploration of our basic curiosities, and it starts at prior to kids being able to walk. From the onset, our children are asking questions and its not like they ever stop. Even as adults we are still super curious, we just have been taught to keep that curiosity to ourselves. But how will we ever solve the problems of the future, if we aren’t maintaining the curiosity about how things work. At Kids Science Labs, not only do we teach basic science and chemistry to kids as young as age 2, but we also teach it purposefully that our curiosity leads to asking questions that can create the next Google, Amazon, and Tesla. Entrepreneurship is often thought of as this weird thing that only some people do, but entrepreneurial is actually powered by creativity and curiosity.

At our Labs, we teach a capstone class to students ages 4-12, around how to start their own business, including developing their own unique concepts that solve real customer problems, as well as creating systems for building their own inventories, retail store fronts, and customized products. Of course kids want to make their own slimes, but they also come up with really innovative ideas around how to design candy made from broccoli (so its good for you AND tastes good), or iPhone chargers that work from long distance so your phone never needs to actually be plugged into a wall.

In our Winter Camp Academy Class at Kids Science Labs, we take this Entrepreneurship class to the next level and teach kids how to build their own Mega Mall of Curiosity, filled with all types of stores, where they each student are given their own Credit Cards to do transactions, and because its KSL, the credit cards even have real magnets designed into them. We want to inspire both artists and architects, doctors and dentists, engineers and entrepreneurs and it all starts with providing kids the tools to understand their curiosity. The next time you buy online or in a retail store with a child, take a few moments to ask them how the credit card processing machine works or why Target doesn’t sell automobiles and you will stumble into the world of STEM in a way that a child can relate to.
