Star Wars based STEAM is what powers kids up with gadgets on Day 2 of Jedis vs. Spies, where our innovators explored the many cool properties of magnets, not the least of which is how they can attract and repel magnetic materials. We used iron, neodymium, and ceramic bar/circle magnets to see which materials can be most easily manipulated with a magnet (obviously metals), and then switched to one of the most popular gadgets, manipulated other light energy to make a light saber. If you ever wondered, real scientists have made prototype light sabers with 4,000 degree energy light, which is wild, but at KSL, with safety at the forefront, we just learned how to manipulate safe energy spectrum to make gadgets and tools that we love. Your child will have designed their won version of a light manipulating gadget using LEDs, LED Flashlights, and kid powered problem solving.
