Science Fundamentals for Elementary Kids boosts Amplify Science with Real Experiments

Science Fundamentals for Curious Kids)- JK/k, 1st-3rd, 4th-6th

Science is relevant to curious kids and parents every day. It helps them understand why cereal gets soggy (absorption), why honey moves so slowly (viscosity), and how to make their fidget spinners spin even longer (friction). Kids will investigate the science behind modern marvels, from pyramids and earth moving equipment to flatscreen TV technology and the power of simple magnets. This program inspires kids to think critically about how the world works by exploring the fundamentals of chemistry and physics while offering kids a world class introduction to design.

Seattle Summer Camps that motivate, inspire and create opportunities for Kids to learn

Designing Roads is just one thing kids love in Seattle Summer Camps @ Kids Science Labs

A summer camp for our Seattle students should always start with a question to motivate and focus the learning environment. We know that roads need to be smooth, strong, durable, and maintained or else we are going to hear about it as civil engineers. Kids however want to know ‘Why are their so many potholes? In seattle. Roads also have to fit pipes, wires, and sewers underneath, however the constant temperature changes, as well as the use of chemicals to prevent icy roads, can cause havoc on our road ways! In a recent Seattle Summer Camp called Builder’s Paradise, our innovative students at Kids Science Labs investigated

  • How to make concrete with various pebble-like textures for added friction in Seattle Summer Camps

  • How potholes are created and how to use science to prevent environmental damage to roads

  • Which materials would be best for building roads, and then customizing our very own yellow brick roads

  • When changes in road designs are necessary based on geographic and climate variations that impact safety

Building Critical Thinking and Problem Solving is essential in any Seattle Summer Camp for Kids

Students engaged in problem solving on how to manufacture concrete and to keep each level of the earth flat, when pouring their own custom concrete aggregate. Each child at KSL explored the science in our city layers under the surface, including rocks, soil, clay, and minerals, as well as what happens when concrete (plaster) is poured with varying aggregate materials.

Show the video below to your child to learn more about roads or watch it with them to build more confidence in understanding how roads are built in Science in the City!

The Joy of Science - Chicago Summer Camps That Boost Confidence

Science Summer Camps at Kids Science Labs . Our first year with seven (yes seven) centers and over 425 kids a week! Chicago Summer Camps are so rewarding to all of us, and it is so busy, we don’t often take a moment to say thank you. It is a joy to be able to work with your kids each and everyday - Thank You!

In our Kids Summer Camps in Seattle, We see creations like jet packs, self designed computers (that really function), future home designs, flying airplanes, and spy alert devices to keep little brothers out. These not only amaze us, they keep us creative, and we are honored to see the talent our students have.

Every year, our Seattle Summer Camps and Chicago Summer Camps come to an end in September, as we transition our STEM Program for Kids and get excited to begin our weekly classes in September for toddlers to 6th graders. Early access to science and problem solving matters for elementary students, and helps kids retain their natural creativity. And the World needs more creators, problem solvers, and innovators.

Thank you for being a part of Kids Science Labs.
