Allergies @ Kids Science Labs
Please read our entire Allergy Policy and help us protect our children who may have severe food allergies.
Kids Science Labs makes every effort to try to maintain a peanut and tree-nut free facility, but there are no guarantees that other parents will respect our the intent and direction of our policies and staff. In that regard, we check packaging labels on class materials and wherever appropriate, offer alternatives that may work for children with allergies.
If your child has allergies, send us a note below and discuss it with us, so we can ensure our programs are able support their safety when they are engaging in hands-on science.
We also ask parents help in keeping a safe environment for our children by not bringing snacks with nuts or nut oils into Kids Science Labs. When registering for a session, please inform our staff of both the allergy and its severity, such that we can make any necessary adjustments to offer your child as safe an environment as possible.
During our camps, if we identify an allergen, we normally ask for that food not to be consumed at Kids Science Labs out of respect for our other students.
Note: That while we make every attempt to try to maintain a facility that is free of peanuts and tree-nuts, as well as make some accommodations for other severe food allergies, it is entirely the responsibility of our guests to check their food and ensure that any child with a severe food allergy does not share food. All parents of children, who have food allergies should provide their allergy action plan and have a detailed discussion witn our team leaders and program directors before dropping off their child at any facility, including Kids Science Labs, as we are not in a position to guarantee that their are no nuts in any products.
We can relate to children with allergies as the founder of KSL has several children who grew up with severe food allergies. We will be as diligent as we can and ask that all parents help us keep kids safe while enrolled in any of our parties, camps, or at-school programs.
If a parent sends peanut butter or snacks with clear evidence (label says “may contain peanuts or tree nuts”) we will kindly slip a note into the child’s lunch and will attempt to prevent the child from consuming any nut-containing snacks, in open, at our shared community lunch tables. Be diligent with your child such that they know not to share any lunch items for any reason.
